Animated Feature Film entries for the 75th Academy Awards competition are due Nov. 1. The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences must receive a completed entry form, synopsis, filmographies, cast and credits list. The deadline for receiving the film print is Dec. 18. Foreign entries must also comply with these rules.
The Academy defines an animated feature "as a motion picture of at least 70 minutes in running time with a significant number of the major characters animated, and in which animation figures in no less than 75% of the pictures running time."
Next month, Animation Magazine launches a series on the Academy Award race, highlighting the animation creatives in the process, as well as analysis of the category and judging issues.
Rules and regulations are available on the Academys website at http://www.oscars.org/75academyawards/rules/rule07.html or for assistance call 310-247-3000.
