It is with great sadness that we at Animation Magazine report the death of Alexandra Tholance, who succumbed to cancer on Nov. 7. Even as she faced her illness, she continued to fight for animation and will be missed by the animation community throughout the world.
Tholance was, for the past ten years, the enthusiastic press attaché for CARTOON and the many events sponsored by that group. When I recently spoke with her in Annecy, she told me she still held onto a great hope for her own recovery, and moreover she spoke of her concern for the well being of the industry she loved. The wonderful growth in the European animation industry over the past decade stands as a legacy to her work and the work of others like her. I believe we who are left behind can be thankful for Alexandras life and the passion she demonstrated for our creative industry. She has left her mark on the many animated projects she touched, and we will not forget her contributions.

Goodbye, Alexandra. You will be missed.
