Hollywoods 10th annual Angelus Awards Student Film Festival has issued a call for entries through July 1, 2005. The festival recognizes films, documentaries and animation for outstanding achievement in exploring the human condition with creativity, compassion and respect.
Not surprisingly, the event was named Best Bet for student filmmakers in the MovieMakers "Best of" issue 2005, as college-level inspired brains have the opportunity to win a $10,000 Grand Prize as well as gaining invaluable industry exposure. Some of the other awards include:
Priddy Brothers "Triumph of the Human Spirit" ($5,000)
Fuji Film Audience Impact ($2,500)
Mole-Richardson Production Design ($2,500)
Best Animation ($1,500)
Best Documentary ($1,500)
Patricia Cardosa (Real Women Have Curves), Tony Bui (Three Seasons) and Greg Marcks (directed Hilary Swank in 11:14) are among the posse of previous winners. The work of the 2005 winners will be screened at the Directors Guild in Hollywood on Octrober 22.
