Steve Oedekerk and O Entertainment, producers of Jimmy Nuetron, have teamed with ACIDPlanet.com to launch a contest aimed at finding the best piece of original music to score their new animated undercover spy series, Dirk Dercy, Wonder Jockey.
Part of the Sony online music creation communities, AcidPlanet.com was tapped by O Entertainment to spearhead the hunt for a 36-second score to play as Dirk’s soundtrack while he slips into his BoomSuit, which allows him to transform into a giant boombox when necessary.
With more than 200,000 beat-loving inhabitants, ACIDplanet.com provides a forum where users can compose original music, remix major label artists and collaborate on a variety of audio and video projects. The site also has gear available for download, including free trial versions of Sony Media Software’s ACID Pro software, a loop-based music composition and production tool for scoring videos, and ACID Music Studio software, an entry level music gizmo for adding soundtracks to videos.
Dirk Dirby, Wonder Jockey goes behind the scenes with Dirk, a member of a secret triple counter spy organization who fights crime with his trusty Steed 2000, while keeping his cover as one of the world’s most elite jockeys.
In addition to having a tune featured on Dirk Derby, Wonder Jockey, the winner of the contest will receive a suite of Sony Software products worth more than $1,500.
