It looks like Cowboy, Indian and Horse have a new home. After spotting Vincent Tavier and Steven Aubier’s Panique au Village (A Town Called Panic) at the MIP TV confab, Aardman just had to add the brilliant stop-motion property to its repertoire. This marks the first time the Bristol-based Wallace and Gromit house has acquired programming from an outside source in its 30-year romp. Aardman picked up and re-voiced 20×5 episodes of the 3D model animation series for distribution in all English speaking territories worldwide, and has also acquired DVD and licensing rights for the show.
Vincent Tavier produces Panique au Village in Belgium for La Parti Productions, using plastic models found at flea markets to create the animation’s unique look. The program garnered awards and critical acclaim during its broadcast on Canal + France, and Nickelodeon UK and U.S. have already snatched up Panic for broadcast.
