Jetix Europe has today announced the redesign of its nineteen websites available in Europe. The company believes the new designs and feature enhancements will result in increased traffic and time spent on each site by kids 6-14. The changes are set to begin rolling out in September across Jetix-owned sites in Germany, the U.K., Spain, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Israel, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Hungary, Poland, Russia, Romania, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Greece.
In 2007 Jetix Europe’s websites generated on average of 100 million page views per month. The company has since conducted in-depth research and focus groups to identify how the sites could be enhanced through new navigation, fresh design and additional functionality. The result, according to Jetix, is a more attractive, user-friendly environment that reflects the on-air look of Jetix channels across Europe. Jetix has been working with BAFTA award nominee Bloc media to develop the new design and navigation scheme, built with a mixture of both html and Flash. In addition, more standard advertising formats have been included and are clearly labeled for the benefit of both clients and kids.
Also being introduced are an online community, an new video player and enhanced games sections. The incentive-based online community will enable kids to access exclusive content, interact with friends and build their own profile featuring a personal 3D avatar, provided by Yomego, a provider of interactive entertainment and communications solutions. The video player uses a Maven Networks flash-based solution that will allow kids to interact with video content.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to upload their user-generated content to share these with their friends in a safe environment.
More than half a million game plays were recorded in January of 2008 on the Jetix U.K. site alone, and Jetix Europe hops to keep growth in that area booming by investing further in its in-house game development and design team, and increasing the volume and depth of online flash games for its European websites.
The revamped Jetix Erupoe sites will also feature new initiatives for potential advertisers, including a ‘Homepage Takeover,’ which allows clients to spotlight their brands through packages on the homepage.
