Animation house Guru Studio is taking a new preschool series titled Justin Time to the MIPCOM Jr. and MIPCOM markets in Cannes next month. The company says it has signed a development deal with an unnamed Canadian broadcaster and will be seeking international pre-sales at MIP.
In the show, Justin and pals Wiki and Olive embark on adventures that take them to some of the most famous places and times in history. Guru plans to have 52 11-minute episodes available for broadcast.
Former Disney exec Mary Bredin is heading up development at Guru. She comments, ‘We started our screen-based content development less than a year ago and, with four projects on our slate and one in active development with a channel, we feel we are on target for a very productive MIPCOM Jr and MIPCOM.’
Guru Studio will also be presenting an animation test for The Buds, an animated kids’ show that will offer a unique look at the world of food as seen by taste buds. Run by president and creative director Frank Falcone, the company provides animation production services for the hit Nick Jr./Nelvana series The Backyardigans and Entertainment Rights’ Guess With Jess.
