CG-animated pooches and pussies will be going at it again in Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore, a sequel to the hit 2001 family comedy Cats & Dogs. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that actors Chris O’Donnell (Grey’s Anatomy) and Jack McBrayer (30 Rock) have joined the cast of live actors assembled by Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow Pictures.
Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore will have cats and dogs once again secretly battling for control of planet earth with the aid of high-tech gadgetry. Brad Peyton, who garnered attention with his short film Evelyn: The Cutest Evil Dead Girl, will make his feature debut with the pic. He is working from a script by Ron Friedman and Steve Bencich, whose team credits include the animated Disney features Brother Bear and Chicken Little, as well as the Sony toon Open Season.
Live-action filming is underway in Vancouver with Andrew Lazar is producing through his Mad Chance, alongside former Warner Independent head Polly Cohen. Miri Yoon is co-producing.
O’Donnel, who played Robin in Batman Forever and Batman and Robin, next appears in 20th Century Fox’s adaptation of Rockstar Games’ popular video game Max Payne. McBrayer is getting some mileage from his work as Kenneth the page on NBC’s Emmy-winning 30 Rock. He recently showed up on the big screen in the hit comedies Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story and Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
