Taffy Ent. has sold its Emmy Award-winning animated kids’ series I Got A Rocket! to Disney Channel in the U.K., Scandinavia and emerging markets. Produced by Australia’s SLR Prods., in association with Taffy Ent., Sunwoo Ent., Peach Blossom, KI.KA ARD and Europool, the 52×11 comedy show is based on the popular Australian children’s book of the same name by author Matthew Zurbo and illustrator Dean Gorissen. The series is seen in the U.S. via the multi-platform Kabillion service, and is scheduled to debut on the new broadcast outlets in early 2009.
I Got A Rocket! follows the out-of-this world adventures of 12-year-old Vinnie Q, who receives the ultimate birthday present from his dad’a cool space rocket with artificial intelligence. The show premiered on Network Ten in Australia in late 2006, and also airs on Nickelodeon in Australia, Gulli in France and KI.KA in Germany. Taffy handles worldwide distribution, except for Australia, New Zealand, Germany and German-language channels in Europe.
