Good Vibes Cast Takes Shape

The FOX Network has assembled a group of actors to lend their voices to the pilot episode of the potential animated TV series Good Vibes. Daily Variety reports that Josh Gad (Back to You), Adam Brody (The O.C.), Debi Mazar (Entourage), Olivia Thirlby (New York I Love You), Alan Tudyk (3:10 to Yuma) and Jake Busey (Broken) have all joined the cast of the surfer comedy from 20th Century Fox and Good Humor TV.

Good Vibes originated at Good Humor TV parent company Warner Bros. The pilot is being produced by 20th Century Fox Television and will revolve around two California high school students who spend their time surfing. Gad will voice Mondo, an out-of-shape teen who aspires to become a good surfer and win the heart of Jeena (Thirlby), who sees him as more of a brother. His best friend, Woodie, will be played by Brody, while Busey takes on the role of Turk, Mondo’s chief rival. Mazar will voice Babs, Mondo’s mother, and Tudyk will provide narration as Lonnie, an old surf bum.

Filmmaker David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, Snow Angels, Undertow) is writing and will exec produce the half-hour show with Good Humor TV’s Tom Werner and Mike Clements, and Simpsons animator Brad Ableson. The actors will reportedly gather for a table read in early November. Should FOX decide to take the project to series, it will likely debut in the spring.
