Animag Announces 5th Pitch Event Panelist

Animation Magazine is delighted to announce the latest addition to our upcoming How to Create a Winning Animation Pitch panel: Cartoon Network’s director of original comedy animation, Curtis Lelash. Lelash moved to CN’s Burbank office after serving in the original series department of their Atlanta offices, and has overseen quirky shows like Squirrel Boy, Class of 3000 and Out of Jimmy’s Head. He previously held development posts at DreamWorks Animation and Storyopolis Productions.

After eight years of running our Annual Pitch Party in the pages of Animation Magazine (this year we set new records for online voting on these awesome pitches, thanks to our fabulous readers!), we’ve put together a brand-new live event to help aspiring animation stars learn the ins-and-outs of the ever-stressful pitching process.

Taking place Friday, September 18 at the Beverly Garland Hotel in North Hollywood, CA, Animag’s How to Create a Winning Animation Pitch will feature toon legend Butch Hartman (Fairly OddParents, Danny Phantom) as keynote speaker, who will share tips and anecdotes from his experience as an animated series creator. Following Hartman’s talk will be a panel comprised of animation industry veterans Lelash, Leah Hoyer (director of development, Disney Television Animation), Heather Kenyon (VP of project development, Starz Animation), Troy Underwood (manager, The Gotham Group) and Marci Proietto (senior VP of animation and development, 20th Century Fox TV).
