Technicolor Develops Atomic Puppet Series

Technicolor has optioned Atomic Puppet, a new animated series for ages 6-11 to be produced by Technicolor Digital Productions.

Technicolor Digital Productions will produce the series of 52 11-minute episodes in association with Mark Drop and Jerry Leibowitz, who created the characters and developed the series bible. Drop’s credits include writing for Recess, Dinosaur Train and Kick Buttowski, while Leibowitz’s credits include creating and executive producing the UPN series The Mouse and the Monster.

The series is about an 11-year-old boy who travels the country with his superhero sidekick Atomic Puppet and his family in a run-down trailer and fight for truth, justice and “quality goof-off time.”

“We’re thrilled to be moving forward with our plans for animated children’s television series — the appropriation of Atomic Puppet follows our announcement of Berkeley Breathed’s Pete and Pickles,” said Tim Sarnoff, president of Technicolor’s digital productions division. “Mark and Jerry have come up with a perfectly wacky and wonderful take on the superhero genre with Atomic Puppet.”
