Video Viewers To Train a Dragon, Hunt Wabbits

Dragons will be trained and a wascally wabbit’s greatest hits come this week to home video.

The major release of the week is How to Train Your Dragon (DreamWorks, $30.99 two-disc DVD, $39.99 Blu-ray/DVD combo pack). The hit feature includes plenty of bonus features, including filmmakers’ commentary, featurettes on the making of the film and Blu-ray exclusive features including picture-in-picture storyboards, pop-up trivia contests and more.



Meanwhile, The Essential Bugs Bunny (Warner Bros., $26.99) delivers 20 short films from the classic hare including six shorts new to DVD and three that have been re-mastered. It also includes some nice bonus features, including the mini-documentary Ain’t I A Stinker, an uncut version the 1990 short Invasion of the Bunny Snatchers from the Space Jam DVD, the Emmy-nominated special Bugs Bunny: Bustin’ Out All Over, and the Chuck Jones-directed 1976 TV special The Carnival of the Animals.

Also out this week is the Cartoon Network favorite series Dexter’s Laboratory: Season One (Warner Bros., $24.98) from animator Genndy Tartakovsky, as well as Angelina Ballerina: The Nutcracker Sweet (HIT Entertainment, $14.98), Thomas & Friends: Merry Winter Wish (HIT Entertainment, $14.98) and G.I. Joe: Countdown For Zartan (Digital1Stop, $9.98).

Comic-book fans have the animated series Wolverine & the X-Men: The Complete Series (Lionsgate, $29.98 DVD, $44.99 Blu-ray) from Marvel and the live-action adaptation of Jonah Hex (Warner Bros., $28.98 DVD, $35.99 Blu-ray) from DC.
