Two very cool new images have been released from the upcoming Disney visual-effects film John Carter, based on the Barsoom series by Edgar Rice Burroughs.

John Carter is being directed by Andrew Stanton from a screenplay he wrote with Mark Andrews and Michael Chabon. The movie stars Taylor Kitsch as Carter, Lynn Collins as Princess Dejah Thoris and Willem Dafoe as Tars Tarkas, The cast also includes Thomas Haden Church, Samantha Morton, Dominic West, Polly Walker, James Purefoy, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds and Bryan Cranston.
The movie is due out March 9.
