What’s Your Spirit Muppet?

The latest headwear craze that has graced the pates of pop idols Ke$ha and Katy Perry (among other trendy celebs) is moving on from wild beasts to felt puppets. SpiritHoods, a Los Angeles-based company that makes charming hood/scarf combos in the likeness of animals such as wolves, bears and exotic felines, has partnered with Disney Consumer Products to offer a new line in celebration of Disney’s upcoming The Muppets movie, due out November 23.

SpiritHoods inspired by Jim Henson’s beloved Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Animal and Gonzo characters will be available in both kid and adult sizes. The collection will range in price from $99 to $169 and be available starting October 3 at Fred Segal stores and on the SpiritHoods website (spirithoods.com). The accessories will also be sported by guests during New York’s Fashion Night Out on September 8, so keep your eyes peeled.

“This is our first limited-edition collection and the SpiritHoods tribe is proud to be collaborating with such an iconic brand as The Muppets, their wild and varying characters lend themselves perfectly to our brand. There is definitely some good humor represented in this collection,” said SpiritHoods Co-Founder and Design Director Alexander Mendeluk. “Many members of the SpiritHoods tribe also grew up as Muppets fans and we’re looking forward to introducing our interpretation of these crazy characters.”
