New Season of ‘Regular Show’ Arrives Monday

Regular Show, Cartoon Network’s Emmy-nominated comedy about a six-foot-tall blue jay and a hyperactive raccoon, returns with its third season on Monday, Sept. 19, at 8:15 p.m.

According to CN, Regular Show has become an instant hit with its first and second seasons on Monday nights, ranking #1 in its time period among all key boy demos across all of television according to Nielsen Media Research.

Created by J.G. Quintel, Regular Show features Mordecai and Rigby, two groundskeepers at a park whose attempts to escape their everyday boredom take them to fantastical extremes. The job is so deadly dull that the two friends will do anything they can to avoid it. This doesn’t go over well with their boss Benson (a gumball machine) — but their efforts often result in insane escapades that delight Pops, a humanoid-looking lollipop, who has spent his entire life there.

In the new season, Mordecai and Margaret’s friendship begins to develop into something more, some of Skip’s mysterious past explored and Benson’s personal life reveals why he yells so much.  The gang also gets out of town for a road trip to a video game convention, goes on a surprising camping trip, and takes the golf cart across country for repairs. There is also a 22-minute Halloween special consisting of three creepy short stories.
