5-Day Webcam Event Celebrates 100th ‘Robot Chicken’

Adult Swim’s Emmy Award-winning show Robot Chicken will broadcast its 100th episode Sunday, January 15 at 11:30 p.m. during the Adult Swim block on Cartoon Network. Created by Seth Green and Matthew Senreich under their Stoopid Monkey Productions banns, Robot Chicken uses stop-motion animation to parody and lampoon popular culture in a toon take on the variety show format.

To celebrate the 100th episode–which spoofs Sex and the City and classic kids show characters like Yogi Bear, Power Rangers and Woody Woodpecker—Adult Swim has launched a five-day live-action webcam event that answers the probing question: “What happens when a robot and a live chicken are left alone in a motel room?” Fans can watch the dramatic results at robotchicken.com. The event will also feature special guest stars throughout the week, and viewers can keep tabs and comment via Facebook at facebook.com/adultswim or Twitter at twitter.com/adultswim. Green, Senreich, head writers Tom Root and Douglas Goldstein, writer/producer Mike Fasolo, writers Zeb Wells, Matt Beans, Jessica Gao and exec producers Eric Towner and John Harvatine IV will be Skyping their reactions all week.

“I’m proud and a bit shocked that we reached this milestone,” said Green. “It’s great to work with people you like and we are thrilled that the show’s fans continue to support our show and that our guest stars still like to come and play with us.” Senreich added: “Adult Swim always seems to venture into new territory with their promotions and we love to follow them down every crazy road or in this case, to a chicken-sized motel room.”
