Games house D3Publisher has released new details for the upcoming title Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why’d You Steal Our Garbage?!, which will be available for Nintendo’s 3DS and DS devices this fall for an SRP of $29.95.
Based on Cartoon Network’s Emmy-nominated series, the new Adventure Time game (dev’d by WayForward) allows players to explore the Land of Ooo and set out on heroic quests as Penn Ward’s popular toon heroes Finn the human and Jake the dog. The action-adventure game find Finn and Jake on the trail of the nefarious Ice King, who has stolen their trash in order to construct a Garbage Princess. You know it’s quality, because show creator Pendleton Ward wrote the original story for the game.
Gameplay: The features announced reveal that players can use punch, slash and pick-up abilities on foes as well as use Jake’s magical stretchy powers, while light RPG elements will allow players to level up speed, strength, health and attacks. Further boosts occur when dungeon bosses are defeated as players collect mathematical songs to add to Jake’s transforming abilities with Stretch Bridge Jake, Huge Heavy Jake, Giant Leggy Jake, Tiny Jake and Boat Jake modes.
Environment & Characters: The game will maintain the unique humor, randomness and hilarious characters from the show, like Ice King, Princess BubbleGum, Marceline, Lumpy Space Princess, Tree Trunks and more. Enemies to be faced include weaponized bunnies, Hammer Turtles, Evil signposts, Donny and the Giant Worm King. Through the game, players will explore various dungeons within the Land of Ooo to fight monsters and gather loot and enhancement items. Locales include Finn and Jake’s Treehouse, Candy Kingdom, Ice Kingdom, Lumpy Space and more.
