The Jim Henson Company will no longer do business with Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A. Dan Cathy, president and COO of Chick-fil-A recently told the Baptist Press that Chick-fil-A was “guilty as charged” in its opposition to same-sex marriage. A report from the LGBT advocacy group Equality Matters said that Chick-fil-A donated more than $3 million from 2003 to 2009 to Christian groups that oppose homosexuality. The company then escalated its donations, giving $2 million to such causes in 2010 alone, according to Equality Matters.
“The Jim Henson Company has celebrated and embraced diversity and inclusiveness for over 50 years and we have notified Chick-fil-A that we do not wish to partner with them on any future endeavors,” the company said in a statement on its Facebook page. “Lisa Henson, our CEO is personally a strong supporter of gay marriage and has directed us to donate the payment we received from Chick-fil-A to GLAAD.”
Chick-fil-A recently began including Jim Henson’s Creature Shop toys in its Kid’s Meals, and will presumably continue to do so until August 18th.

It just so happens that those christian groups Chick-fil-a donates to promote virtue in our society. Something everyone could use more of. Jim Henson Co is missing out.
We live in one messed up world. We should all learn that we don’t all agree and not let that affect business.
“Virtue”? Really? What these “Christian” groups are promoting is hatred, and bigotry wrapped in religion is still bigotry. History shows pretty clearly that those who bark the loudest about a social issue such as homosexuality usually have something to hide. This is probably true in Cathy’s case as well.
Bigotry is from those that oppose someone having there own beliefs and standards. Chick-fil-a stands for what they believe without forcing their beliefs on anyone else like others are trying to do to them.
