‘Matt Hatter Chronicles’ Finds a Home on TVNZ

New Zealand’s national broadcaster, TVNZ has ordered the first season of the new adventure comedy series Matt Hatter Chronicles for its free commercial channel TV2. The 26 x 30-minute HD CGI animation, which targets five to 10-year-olds, will premiere in 2013 as part of TV2’s Spring line-up on 2Kids weekend programming block. The show was also recently acquired by Australia’s Network Ten for its digital free-to-air channel, ELEVEN.

Produced by leading UK indie Platinum Films and Toronto-based Dream Mill Inc. and animated by Arc Productions (Gnomeo & Juliet), Matt Hatter Chronicles follows the epic adventures of budding schoolboy hero Matt Hatter and combines CG animation, 3D digital content, classic storytelling and the ultimate gadgetry to appeal to tech-savvy kids.

Matt Hatter Chronicles airs on Nicktoons and ITV in the U.K .where it is outperforming the ITV simulcast slot average for the year by 35% for all viewers and 60% for boys watching the show. The series has also sold to Canada’s Teletoon, RTE Ireland, SABC South Africa and Al Jazeera’s Children’s Channel in the Middle East.
