Teddy Ruxpin, eat your heart out! New family entertainment company ToyTalk, which is formed by CEO Oren Jacob, CTO Marin Reddy and CCO Bobby Podesta—all former Pixar employees, has debuted a 45-second trailer for its first app. Using artificial intelligence to give voice to kids’ toys such as teddy bears via iPads or other mobile devices, the app will launch in early 2013. It’s interesting to note that Reddy was part of the team that builds geospatial visualization technology at SRI International, which created the personal assistance software Siri.
Using the tagline “Your Teddy Bear Has Thousand of Things to Tell You,” the app will offer a new way of bringing life to inanimate toys. We wonder what Seth MacFarlane is going to make of this brave, new world of talking teddy bears! Stay tuned for more info on www.toytalk.com.
