Alphanim Sells Three Shows to Starz

French studio Alphanim has sold three of its animated series to U.S. premium cable channel Starz. The studio has made key sales to Australia, South Korea, Eastern Europe and Finland. The announcement was made today by Pierre Belaïsch, Managing Director of Alphanim.

“With these new sales, we are delighted to be continuing our relationship with the outstanding team at Starz,” commented Belaïsch. “We are confident that Starz will have tremendous success with all of these titles, specifically The Green Squad, our eco-travel show for kids which continues to sell remarkably well around the world.”

Starz acquired Alphanim’s animated adventure show The Green Squad (52×13’), the second season of the animated adventure-comedy Gawayn (52×13’), as well as comic book-based comedy Toto Trouble (52×13’). The network already airs several of Alphanim’s shows, including Santa’s Apprentice (52×13’) Hairy Scary (52×13’), Zombie Hotel (26×26’), Matt’s Monsters (52×13’) and the first season of Gawayn.

In other global sales news, ABC Australia acquired Gawayn II (52×13’), whilst in South Korea, Disney Channel bought Mouss & Boubidi (52×1’). In Eastern Europe, Megamax acquired all three seasons of Alphanim’s flagship series Galactik Football (78×26’) for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Finally in Finland, MTV3 renewed its rights for the Christmas series Santa’s Apprentice (52×13’).

Alphanim’s flagship titles are Galactik Football (Disney XD, 78×26’), Robotboy (Cartoon Network, 104×13’) and Santa’s Apprentice (52×13’ & Feature film). The company is currently in production of 104×11’ new episodes of 50-year-old character Calimero.
