Brazil’s One Minute Festival–now the largest video fest in Latin America–has kicked off an innovative challenge for short film makers. Now open for submissions until July 30, 2013, this year’s Festival theme is CanAnimation.
Sponsored by international rolled products manufacturer and aluminum recycler Novelis, the aim is to combine cans of any kind–soda, beer, food, etc.–with the ingenuity and art of animation in shorts up to 60 seconds long. All formats including film, digital and mobile video are welcome and creativity is encouraged. Submissions will be accepted through the festival’s website, www.minutefestival.com through July 30.
Four awards will be given out of the metallic media menagerie: Three prizes of $1,000 will given to winners selected by the festival curators, and a fourth $2,000 prize will be awarded by sponsor Novelis. Can you dig it? (Sorry.)
