Spike & Mike’s 30th Fest Extended to 4/13

There must be a lot of sick and twisted toon fans out there: due to sold-out screenings, Spike and Mike’s Festival of Animation 30th Anniversary Extravaganza will be running additional shows in La Jolla, Calif. until Saturday, April 13. This year’s collection features new, technically advances films as well as the most award-winning and popular shorts in the Festival’s 30-year history—including 10-plus Oscar winners and nominees.

In addition to adding more screenings, the organizers have decided to add in even more shorts to the mix. Newcomers to the lineup include Mike Salva’s Pound Dogs, Europa & Italy by Italian toon legend Bruno Bozzetto, the festival favorite No Neck Joe series from Power Puff Girls creator Craig McCracken, and a brand new episode of viral hit Animation vs. Animator. The fest already includes perennial favorites like Nick Park’s Creature Comforts, Marv Newland’s Bambi Meets Godzilla and Bozzetto’s Grasshoppers as well as exciting newer efforts like the mesmerizing Loom from Jan Bitzer, Ilija Brunck and Csaba Letay.

The 30th Anniversary Extravaganza is playing at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego in La Jolla, California. For more info visit www.spikeandmike.com, or call (858) 459-8707 for ticketing information.
