‘Tree Fu Tom’ To Nest on Sprout

FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment has announced that their animated preschool series Tree Fu Tom will continue to put down global roots as it premieres on the U.S.’s 24-hour pre-k channel Sprout this month. The European producer/distributor has previously placed its kids’ content on other major networks in the States, including Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and The Hub.

Set to premiere on Sprout on Earth Day 2013 (April 22), Tree Fu Tom is a CG animated series that takes place in the enchanted world of Treetopolis, where movement creates magic and every child gets to be a hero. A blend of action and fantasy elements in the show’s engaging adventures are enhanced by interactive physical activity—kids are brought into the fantastical action through special movements designed to help motor skill development. When Tom performs a special movement sequence, he creates Tree Fu Magic that transforms him into a superhero.

Tree Fu Tom originally launched in the U.K. on CBeebies, where in 2012 it was the highest rated program for kids 4-6 (by highest occurrence, excluding special events). The show has also earned two BAFTA nominations. Animated by Blue Zoo Animation, Tree Fu Tom is a co-production of FremantleMedia Kids & Family Ent. and CBeebies In-house Production. FME handles international distribution for the series outside of the U.K. and manages other ancillary rights globally.
