Zodiak Secures Range of ‘Ranch’ Deals

Zodiak Kids has nabbed a new slew of sales for Tele Images Productions’ The Ranch (26 x 26), which made its market debut at MIP Junior last year. The series, which launched on TF1 last fall, was earlier pre-sold to French broadcasters Teletoon+ and Equidia Life (an equestrian lifestyle channel), Italy’s DeA Kids and Super, Germany’s Ki.Ka, Norway’s NRK Super, Belgium’s VRT and DVD distributors Bridge Rights (Germany) and TF1 Video (France).

New sales include Free TV deals with RTS (Switzerland), SVT Barnkananeln (Sweden), POP TV (Slovenia) and CFI (French Africa), plus Pay TV sales with Teletoon+ / Canal+ (Poland), Minimax (CEE), Noga (Israel) and Smart Cocuk (Turkey).

The Ranch shows the adventures of four teens who share a passion for horse-riding who take in an injured wild stallion called Mistral with hopes to tame him at their rescue in the heart of the wild Camargue countryside. The show is performing well on TF1, averaging a 22.6% share of the 4-19 demographic (+16% over average time slot).

Tele Images has recently signed new international agents to the property: CPLG in Germany & Austria, and Planeta in Italy & Spain. In France, Hachette has published the first three novels which have ranked in the IPSOS Top in their first week. DVDs (TF1 Video), activity books (Hachette) and comic book (Jungle) will launch later this spring.
