PGS Sells Method/DQE’s ‘Robin Hood’ to Key Broadcasters

Global distributor and brand management company PGS has announced the sale of Method Animation and DQ Entertainment’s new CG-animated series Robin Hood: Mischief in Sherwood, to Tele-Quebec in Quebec, VRT in Belgium, Canal Panda in Portugal, RTVE in Spain and MTV3 in Finland. The 52 X 11 series was commissioned by TF1 (France), De Agostini (Italy) and ZDF (Germany).

Robin Hood: Mischief in Sherwood serves up a fun twist on the legendary story of the beloved bandit and his accomplices that is re-booted just for kids aged 6 to 10. Created by Romain Van Liemt and Alexandre de la Patellière  and directed by Sandra Derval, the series begins when King Richard’s spoiled brother named Prince John comes to Nottingham for the first time. Keen to impose his newly bestowed powers on his subjects, he finds a mocking critic in young Robin Hood. Not taking the ridicule lying down, the Prince declares Robin an outlaw and he goes into hiding in Sherwood Forest with his friends: the now famous Little John, Friar Tuck, Scarlett and the unforgettable Maid Marian. The series is produced in HD CGI and is also available in 3D.

“Robin Hood is an instantly identifiable character that parents associate with the classic story and feel good about introducing to their kids,” says Guillaume Soutter, PGS co-founder and head of global sales. “The series is a beautifully executed high-def, CGI work of art and we’re very excited to see it catching on with broadcasters all over the world.”
