SVA Announces Dusty Winners

New York’s School of Visual Arts has announced the winners of the 24th annual Dusty Film & Animation Festival and Awards. The 2013 animation award recipients were Sara Ho’s Crabby Day, which earned the Outstanding Achievement in Traditional Animation and Traditional Character Design honors, Michele Malecki’s Catastrophe (Traditional Production Design) and Deanna DeMaglie’s Bagelwolf (Stop Motion Animation). Crabby Day by Sara Ho took home two Traditional Animation awards at SVA’s Dusty Film & Animation Festival.

The festival highlights the work of filmmakers and animators graduating from the BFA program, with awards handed out at an invite-only event at the SVA Theatre last night. Presenters included Melissa Leo, Geoffrey Fletcher, Andrew Jarecki, Lisa Jackson, Fred Seibert, Peter C. Frank, Frank Gresham and Chris Newman and host Valerie Smaldone.
