This week’s buzz-worthy CG animation Confab SIGGRAPH has released the video of its opening day keynote, which was presented in collaboration with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and was a part of the Marc Davis Lecture series.
The keynote featured top animation figures Pixar’s Pete Docter (Monsters, Inc., Up), Henry Selick (Coraline, The Nightmare Before Christmas), Chris Sanders (Lilo and Stitch, The Croods, How to Train Your Dragon), David Silverman (The Simpsons Movie, The Longest Daycare, Monsters, Inc.), Ron Clements (Aladdin, The Little Mermaid); veteran animator Eric Goldberg (Aladdin, Princess and the Frog), Kevin Lima, (Enchanted, Monkeys of Mumbai), Mike Mitchell (Shrek Forever After, Trolls) and Kirk Wise (Beauty and the Beast, The Hunchback of Notre Dame). The panel was moderated by AMPAS managing director of programming, education and preservation Randy Haberkamp.
