CGTrader, an online 3D model platform for artists and designers, has announced a new contest for creatives with the 3D Character Challenge. Competitors are asked to create high-quality character models and upload them to CGTrader. The six winning designers from the two categories (Best 3D Character Portfolio and Best 3D Character) will receive awesome prizes to help them further their art: Zbrush licenses from Pixologic, and goodies from Marmoset, Quixel, Eat3D and Digital-Tutors.
This challenge has a fantasy character theme, which the CGTrader crew requesting that challengers “Let your childhood beasts leave the wardrobe or get out from under the bed. Call all the fairies, elves, goblins, dwarfs, owls, wizards, hobbits, witches, lizards, unicorns, centaurs, mermaids, princes, giants you have ever read about to wake up from the book pages, to step off the TV screen and to awake from the life of being a plush toy.”
