This year’s edition of Miami’s Animation Festival has lined up an impressive program of screenings, events and panels for its 2013 edition, which runs October 17-20 at Miami Dade College’s Wolfson campus.
A special screening of the Annecy-winning Brazilian feature Rio 2096: A Story of Love & Fury (directed by Luiz Bolognesi) kicks off the event on October 17 at 7 p.m., followed by an opening night party on campus. Other special events include master classes provided by MAXON, Autodesk and Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). MIA Animation will also be hosting special portfolio reviews, a job fair and pitching sessions for students and animation industry job hunters.
This year’ s speakers include Disney’s Dylan Ekren, Disney Interactive’s Alison Mann, Drew Tolman (Disney TV Animation), Jason Della Rocca (Execution Labs), Chris Edwards (The Third Floor), Conrad Montgomery (Cartoon Network), Bill Buckley (Neversoft Entertainment) Leah Hoyer (Microsoft Studios) and Chris Bailey (Illumination Entertainment).
