FX Unveils ‘Chozen’ Trailer

The FX network’s upcoming animated series Chozen, which will premiere January 13, 2014 at 10:30 p.m., is causing a stir with its new Red Band trailer, which you can check out below. The series is created, written and exec produced by Grant Dekernion with Tom Brady as EP and show runner and follows the misadventures of its titular character, a gay, white rapper fresh out of prison. Armed with a new message and world view inspired by his time in the joint, Chozen is on a quest for redemption and to claim his rightful position as the world’s top rapper, riding on the wave of his lyrics that take aim at macho and misogynistic stereotypes rife in the rap world.

The new 2D series features the voice talents of Bobby Moynihan, Hannibal Buress, Michael Pena, Nick Swardson, Kathryn Hahn and Method Man. Danny McBride, Jody Hill, David Gordon Green and Brandon James of Rough House Pictures (Eastbound & Down) are exec producers. Adam Reed and Matt Thompson of Floyd County Productions (Archer) also exec produce, and their studio will provide the series animation. FX is has put in a 13 episode order for the adult comedy.
