‘Frozen,’ ‘Gravity’ Top BAFTA Awards

Frozen walked away with another cool honor this weekend, nabbing the BAFTA for Best Animated Film at a ceremony in London.

Directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck took home the honor for the hit Disney film, beating out Illumination’s Despicable Me 2 and Pixar’s Monsters University.

The only other animated honor for the evening was the British Short Animation Award, given to Sleeping With the Fishes and its filmmakers James Walker, Sarah Woolner and Yousif Al-Khalifa. The runners up are Everything I Can See From Here and I Am Tom Moody.

On the VFX side, Gravity cleaned up taking home six awards, including outstanding British Film, best visual effects, best cinematography for Emmanuel Lubezki and best director for Alfonso Cuaron. It also won for original film music and film sound.
