Cynopsis Names 2014 Animation Innovators

Steve Borst and Gary “Doodles” Di Raffaele, co-creators of Nickelodeon’s Breadwinners; DreamWorks Animation’s head of TV development Peter Gal; Blue’s Clues creator and Yummico co-founder Traci Paige Johnson; Bento Box co-founder Joel Kuwahara; and Marvel Television’s VP of animation Cort Lane are the Toon Town luminaries who will be honored as Animation Innovators at the Cynopsis Kids !magination Awards, taking place June 11 from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Yale Club in New York.

These creative pioneers will receive an award and participate in a panel discussion at this third annual ceremony, which seeks to recognize the best in kids and family media across platforms and genres.

“Animation is experiencing a renaissance,” says Cynopsis Kids editor Cathy Applefeld Olson. “We’re thrilled to honor this dream team of innovators and have them onstage to share their insights and experiences.”
