ABC Television’s fairy tale drama Once Upon a Time will be welcoming a new Disney princess into its live-action (and a bit more bad-ass) menagerie. A hint at the show’s fourth season (beginning Fall 2014 on ABC) seen in the season 3 finale shows a tall blonde in blue materializing from some magical ooze, leaving a trail of frost in her wake. And just in case you missed it, the show’s official Twitter account made it perfectly clear: “#Frozen is coming to #OnceUponATime.”
It’s no wonder, seeing as Frozen has been a global smash hit for Disney, raking in over a billion dollars at the box office and taking home the Oscars for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for the stirring anthem “Let It Go.” Besides Elsa’s introduction to the live-action versions of her predecessors Snow White, Belle, Ariel and Mulan on Once this fall, Disney also has plans for further, dedicated Frozen spin-offs, including a stage musical.
