Comic-Con: Bruce Timm Returns to DC Animation

Batman: The Animated Series co-creator Bruce Timm will return to the DC animated universe to direct the next Justice League original movie Gods and Monsters. Based on a 2001 comic, the story will see the League dealing with a cult that worships them as gods, but cause a holy mess. The news was presented at the Batman: Assault on Arkham panel at Comic-Con.

DC and Warner Bros. previously announced and Aquaman animated direct-to-video feature due out next year, titled Justice League: Throne of Atlantis, and added to the slate Batman Versus Robin, due out next summer. This will be a follow up to this year’s Son of Batman and will be loosely based on the Scott Snyder story arc “Court of Owls.”

  1. Good that Bruce Timm has returned. Still, I’d like for both him and James Tucker to work with both Sam Register and Cartoon Network president Christina Miller on expanding D.C. Nation by adding an animated Aquaman series and possibly Isis, too, to run with Teen Titans Go on Saturday mornings.

  2. You nailed it Mike, except IF Cartoon Network can’t get a clue on how to have a real time slot called DC NATION? Then maybe Warner Bros / DC Comics needs to create a Saturday Morning / Weekday Afternoons 2 to 3 hour time slot on TBS / TNT !!

  3. Batman: The Brave and the Bold really needs a Justice League International comedy spin-off show! And due to Warner Bros and Cartoon Network’s failure to produce more DC animated shows, I will NEVER watch anymore Tom & Jerry, Looney Tunes and Scooby Doo cartoons!
