While it’s another month before theater-goers get to take in LAIKA’s latest feature The Boxtrolls (Sept. 26), Focus Features and EW.com are offering a chance to explore behind the scenes of the ambitious stop-motion film and get a first look at the sinister (and silly) characters who populate it with Meet the Boxtrolls.
Based on Alan Snow’s fantasy novel Here Be Monsters!, Graham Annable and Anthony Stacchi’s The Boxtrolls introduces a community of quirky, mischievous monsters who raise an orphaned human boy named Eggs (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) as one of their own. When the wickedly ambitious Archibald Snatcher (Sir Ben Kingsley) hatches a plan to exterminate the trolls and win the town’s favor, Eggs teams up with a feisty girl named Winnie (Elle Fanning) to save his adoptive family and the people of Cheesebridge.
