Dunnamic, an animation studio based in Pennsylvania, has launched a campaign on Kickstarter to fund a pilot for its original cartoon concept Chloe and the Stars. The studio is seeking to raise $35,000 to fund a five-minute episode, which will be animated entirely by hand by an in-house team of artists. If the goal is met, the studio plans to initiate stretch goals for additional episodes.
Created by studio founder Meaghan Dunn, whose A Kitty Bobo Show ran on Cartoon Network’s Big Pick Show for pilots in 2001, Chloe and the Stars focuses on the four members of a girl’s punk rock band, The Stars, who perform all over the galaxy in the hopes of becoming famous.
“Animation techniques have come a long way in the last decade. The technological advances can really speed up the production process,” says Dunn, “But I still love the look of real, hand-drawn animation. So when I created my show, I knew that was the way I wanted to approach it.”
