Exclusive: Get to Know Joaquin in ‘Book of Life’ Blu-ray Clip

If you’re looking for tips on how to attain ultimate swagger and optimal moustache performance, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has got you covered with this clip from its upcoming Blu-ray release of The Book of Life (out January 27). The special footage goes behind the scenes to show how the cast and crew developed the super confident love rival Joaquin, voiced by Channing Tatum.

Written and directed by Jorge R. Gutierrez and produced by Guillermo del Toro, The Book of Life is a dazzling CG animated comedy centered on a young man named Manolo, who is torn between the expectations of his family and his heart’s desires. The film also stars Zoe Saldana, Diego Luna, Ron Perlman, Kate de Castillo, Christina Applegate and Ice Cube.

Available Jan. 27 on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD, the home entertainment release includes fun special features like an all-new short The Adventures of Chuy — celebrating the lovable scene-stealing pig — and a Music Machine featuring Latin-inspired versions of popular songs by Mumford & Sons, Radiohead, Elvis Presley, Rod Stewart and more. Additional bonuses are “No Matter Where You Are” by Us The Duo, audio commentary by Gutierrez, galleries (Meet the Cast, Visual Development – Color Keys, Visual Development – Production Art, Background Poster-Paintings, The Final Look) and Blu-ray exclusives Digital Carpenters: The Art Direction of The Book of Life and Closer Look at The Book of Life.
