The government of China has granted co-production status to DreamWorks Animation’s Kung Fu Panda 3, giving it greater access to the nation’s cinemas.
According to the State General Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television website, DreamWorks Animation and its China-based Oriental DreamWorks and partners China Media Capital, Shanghai Media Group and Shanghai Alliance, acquired co-production status for the movie on Jan. 15.
Overseas filmmakers want China co-production status because films granted the status are treated as domestic films and do not fall under China’s import quota.
Kung Fu Panda 3 is due for release March 18, 2016; a release date for China has not been determined yet.

We should not outsource cinema to countries like China. The communist system is not something we should support. Private companies should not be dealing with the Chinese govt. Take your business elsewhere to a non-communist country.
I’m not keen that Dreamworks is laying off Staff, but things its ok to outsource to China (I don’t think the respective Animation Unions will be happy either)
