Anima Kitchent, Famosa Adapting ‘Pinypon’

Spanish toy company Famosa has teamed up with Anima Kitchent — the Spanish offshoot of Mexico’s Anima Estudios and part of the management team of Vodka Capital — to bring its 30-year-old mini doll property Pinypon into the transmedia entertainment universe. The companies aim to take advantage of the brand’s firm position in over 80 countries by launching a new animated TV series, PINY – Pinypon Institute of New York.

The Pinypon series (52 x 11) will focus on fashion and “life style” and is aimed at girls ages 6-8. Set in an exclusive NYC institute specializing in design, fashion and new professions, the show follows Michelle and her fashionista friends on thrilling adventures as they learn how to deal with love, friendship, jealousy and, above all, fashion. The TV show will be tied in with shorter form animated content available on a range of digital platforms.

Anima Kitchent and Famosa will present the show to international broadcasters at the Kidscreen Summit, seeking presales. Production will begin this spring.
