Zodiak Kids announces that CBeebies favorite Waybuloo will have its debut in China next month, with CCTV acquiring the full 150 x 19 series package for its kids’ channel CCTV-14. The series will launch dubbed into Mandarin in March.
CCTV-14 will also present a sneak preview during the Chinese New Year holiday period, and during holiday programming Waybuloo costume characters will appear and offer giveaways of a new plush range. Licensing parenter Guangzhou Huaen Century Culture Communication Co., Ltd. is launching Waybuloo plush, toys and DVDs with additional product lines to follow.
BBC Worldwide brokered these new deals in China, and represents all rights for Waybuloo in the country. Zodiak Kids owns worldwide distribution and licensing rights to the CBeebies show, which guides young children on a journey of cooperation, friendship and enjoyment through the Piplings and the land of Nara.
