Genius Brands Reaches Out with New Distribution Partners

Genius Brands International has picked up several new distribution partners for its growing portfolio of original content, including Stan Lee’s Mighty 7, Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab and the Baby Genius video and music library. New deals cover broadcast, home entertainment and digital distribution rights.

Several companies have signed on for animated super-hero movie Stan Lee’s Mighty 7. TF1 has acquired all European, French-speaking rights for VOD, SVOD and EST. Teletoon acquired Canadian broadcast rights. CSC Media secured rights for its POP Channel in the U.K., while The Movie Partnership will represent digital rights in the country. Telepictures Promoters has acquired free-to-air TV rights for Arabic-speaking countries in MENA.

Telepictures has also licensed these territory rights for Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab. The newest GBI toon was also picked up by E-Vision for Pay TV rights in the United Arab Emirates — the series is set to debut on U.S. pubcasters this April. Additionally, BGI has partnered with Taiwan-based Lai’s Intelligence Network for a Baby Genius audio picture book.
