As proof that some franchises are perennial, a new TV version of Astro Boy is in the works and an advance trailer of the new series, Astro Boy Reboot, was screened at a convention in Monaco.

This looks like a nice mix of traditional and CG animation. Astro Boy Reboot is now in production on 26 episodes courtesy of a co-production between Shibuya Productions in Monaco, Caribara Production in France and Tezuka Productions in Japan.
No word yet on a distributor in the United States.
