Organizers of the Munich/Potsdam-based CG animation and vfx Animago Award & Conference (October 15-16) have extended the submission deadline for the 2015 competition until July 20, 2015. Participation in the international-level competition is free of charge and registration is available online at animago.com. The event is funded by the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, which has supported the conference since 2009.
The 2015 Animago Awards will be presented on the evening of Thursday, October 15 as part of the event, taking place in Metropolis Hall at the legendary Filmpark Babelsberg. The expert animation and VFX industry jurors will selects winners in the categories of: Best Postproduction, Best Short Film, Best Character, Best Advertising Production, Best Trailer/Opener, Best Visualization, Best Young Production (with a 3,000 EU prize bestowed by Digital Production), Best Still (jury pre-selection, final decision by public vote), and Jury’s Prize.
This year’s jury of pros is comprised of Jury Chairman Guenter Hagedorn (graphic designer/freelance editor), Alexander Ellendt (exec producer & board member, Vogelsaenger Group), Maggy Fischer (head of post-production, NEVEREST), Mirja Fuerst (editor, Digital Production), Sinje Gebauer (freelance VFX & CG producer), Florian Gellinger (VFX production supe, RISE Visual Effects Studio), Prof. Angela Kern (digital art department head, Games Academy Hochschule), Michael Landgrebe (VFX supe & Co-founder, Celluloid Visual Effects), Csaba Letay (designer/director/compositor, Polynoid) and Thomas Zauner (MD and founder, ScanlineVFX).
