Picture Box Picks Up Four Kids Titles

Canadian indie Picture Box Distribution has acquired a quartet of new programs for its kids’ slate. Joining series like Annedroids (Sinking Ship Ent.) and Yup Yups (Radical Sheep Prod.) will be the new animated Halloween special The Dancing Pumpkin, Moochie Kalala Detectives Club, Will’s Jams and Doowett.

The Dancing Pumpkin from Silver Hammer Studios follows the adventures of two kids and the Dancing Pumpkin as they join forces to defeat the evil ogre Finkgrinder and save the world. Moochie Kalala Detectives Club (6 x 30) from Dreaming Tree Films and PBS WTTW stars two kids seeking to uncover the scientific truths behind their grandpa’s wild stories. Will’s Jams from Turtlebox Productions blends live-action, music and animation to inspire healthy habits and activity in school-age children. And Doowett (32 x 2) is an animated preschool series about musical self-expression, produced by Adrian Dean for City Saskatchewan.

Picture Box partners Kate Sanagan and Marilyn Kynaston will be launching the new programming catalog at MIP Jr. and MIPCOM this fall. www.picturebox.ca.
