Animated ‘Bear Hunt’ Set for Channel 4

U.K’s Channel 4 has commissioned an animated special based on the popular illustrated children’s book We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, written by Michael Rosen and illustrated by Helen Oxenbury (Walker Books). The producing studio is Lupus Films, the London company responsible for Channel 4’s 2012 holiday special The Snowman and The Snowdog and the feature adaptation of Raymond Briggs’ Ethel & Ernest. The new 30-minute special will air on the channel in 2016.

“We’re delighted that Channel 4 have commissioned us to retell this classic story and bring to life its beautiful illustrations with our hand drawn animation style. We hope audiences will enjoy the film for many years to come,” said producer Ruth Fielding.

Synopsis:

After swishing and swashing through the long grass, splashing and sploshing through rivers and squelching and squelching through mud, Rufus the dog picks up the scent of a bear…
