Nickelodeon has greenlit a 10th season for the Emmy-winning animated series The Fairly OddParents.
Created and executive produced by Butch Hartman, the show is the network’s third longest running animated series behind SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer.
The 13 half-hour episode order continues the comedic adventures of Timmy Turner, who overcomes typical kid obstacles with the help of his wand-wielding wish-granting fairy godparents, Cosmo and Wanda.
Joining the cast of characters is Chloe Carmichael, an enthusiastic, funny and over-achieving little girl who Timmy will have to share his fairies with.

Let’s see how this turns out. After all the changes, I would love to see the reaction of a classic FOP fan.
Why does Timmy need to share his fairies with another kid? There’s a whole crap-load of fairies out there that could be her godparents.
They’ll probably explain something about too many kids and not enough fairies. I agree it’s a jump the shark moment.
It’s even more ridiculous when you look at all of those fairies just lounging around in Fairy World.
Which also means the movie Fairy Idol made absolutely no sense at all.
Also, why create a new character? Tootie could have easily fulfilled the role of potential rival. That concept about lending fairies had been done before in single episodes and didn’t work out for anyone at the end.
