Disney and The Animation Guild are set this week to begin negotiating a new master contract for the 550 feature film animators the union represents.
According to reports, talks are set for Wednesday and Thursday, then take a break and resume on Jan. 25.
The union and studio’s current contract ended its three-year term Oct. 31, though it has been extended at Disney’s request.
The deal comes in the wake of the guild agreeing in August to a three-year deal with several other major studios, including DreamWorks Animation, Sony Pictures Animation and Warner Bros. Animation. That deal covers about 3,000 animators.
