Cogswell Ranked Among Top NorAm Game Schools

Cogswell College has been named one of the top schools in North America to study game design in 2016, according to new rankings from The Princeton Review. The San Jose college ranked No. 19 out of the top 50 game design programs published in PC Gamer magazine through its partnership with Princeton Review. Cogswell’s game program ranked No. 1 in Northern California and No. 2 statewide.

Cogswell students and alumni have developed and shipped games such as Rise of the Tomb Raider, developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix; Halo 4 from Sledgehammer Games and Activision; the recent Google Project Tango “Best in Show” winner We R Cubed from students Christian Sasso & Steven Ulrich; and the upcoming student-designed game Vampire Teeth, shipping this summer.

The 2016 Princeton Review list includes the Top 50 undergraduate and Top 25 graduate schools for game design. The top five undergrad programs on the list are University of Utah (Salt Lake City), Univ. of Southern California (Los Angeles), Rochester Institute of Technology (Rochester, NY), DigiPen Institute of Technology (Redmond, WA) and Becker College (Worcester, MA). The top five graduate programs are Univ. of Central Florida (Orlando), Southern Methodist University (Plano, TX), Univ. of Utah and DigiPen. See more here.
